I talk a lot, ask anyone. So any device that makes it easier to talk in the car is well worth looking at.
The BlueAnt Supertooth 3 handsfree speakerphone provides easy setup and installation. The unit itself is light and uncomplicated: just four buttons (answer, hang up, and 2 volumes). It attaches to the visor clip - two are included, so it’s easy to transfer from car to car - with a couple of strong magnets.
Setup and pairing was simple in the extreme...you just follow voice instructions, and then the unit uploads your cell phone’s address book. A word of warning, though: older phones may have trouble supporting all the features. My wife couldn't get her address book to upload from her two- or three-year-old LG, either automatically or with the workaround solutions in the manual.
Once I completed setup, I decided to switch from American to British English, but it wasn’t addressed in the manual. Tech support was very helpful and showed me how to reset and select another voice. The speakerphone was great to use. You have the urge to speak loudly and tilt your head up, but it's completely unnecessary; everyone understood me perfectly well at normal volume and direction. The Supertooth 3 tells you who is calling, and allows you to answer (or cancel) the call with voice command.
The charge lasts a long time. I try to remember to turn it off when not in use, but I forget a lot. It claims to last "up to 15 hours talk time, up to 800 hours standby", but I must admit I haven’t tested that personally. I do love that you can pair the device to up to eight different phones, and also that the unit adjusts volume depending on the level of surrounding noise.
The Bottom Line: This speakerphone is a great handsfree solution for your car...it's easy to use, extremely well thought out, and has great sound.
